We would also love for you to visit us at Mt. View Baptist on Cunningham Rd. It is a small church with a wonderful congregation. Sunday school starts at 10 and service at 11. Many couples there have young children. The preacher is great and the folks are friendly. No matter where you choose, I hope you find a church you love.

There is no monthly bill or statement to reconcile.  The "cost" is as Lumbee mentioned.....  When we look at the building we go to Wednesday & Sundays we made sure the programs and expinditures are in line with our thinking and values.  the real church is everywhere we are, everyday and the Tithe is my due for God's praise & glory...  Joyfully, in Him, I trust :o)  His Social Security is ALWAYS availble :o)

Love it Navy! WRBC pastor mentioned this week and said sometimes you have to let the Holly spirit take hold of things and I for one believe he just did!

Silver Creek Baptist Church is great church. LOTS of new members and even a new pastor. The church is booming and growing. We're on fire for God! We have children there and you come as you are! It's awesome!

We visited there, I 100% agree!  I actually like the way all the Silver Creek & Lindale Churches work together!  Makes it a great place to raise kids!

Oh, have to add this - we also visited a church in Cedartown, out 278 on the way to Rockmart, "Orange Grove Baptist," my dear Lord is within that church! They have the most active and dedicated youth group I have ever seen. It was just too far for us. We have gone back a couple times & I actually sat down with their youth coordinator to ask just what it is they are doing - cuz its right! I hope you visit all & have fun doing it! I had to throw that in because it was an incredible experience!

I pass by that church everyday.  I always read the messages on the sign.  Have wondered what that church was like.

Lumbee...why dont you stop in sometime? It's a great church. Very spiritual, very welcoming, very blessed. You aren't judged there. Everyone treats you like they've known you 20 years! The youth is growing and it is a great time to get children involved! We'd love to have you there sometime!

I see that it's mostly Baptist and nondenominational churches that everyone is talking about. Does anyone know of a good Episcopal church that is friendly. The Episcopalian churches are steep in tradition and ceremony (which I like), but (only my personal opinion) are not very social (or it just could be the churches I attended).

For those who are not familiar with what Episcopals believe, think of it as Catholic lite.  :D

I believe the "church on earth" as one Holy catholic (as in all not the denomination) as a whole are judged on the acceptance, warmth, mission & most of all the sharing of the miracle that is our forgiveness thru Jesus Christ, given by God.  All of the churches above are steeped in that.  I, too, have been to a seemingly unfriendly church - or two, over my many years and have recently equated that to the teaching & willingness to uphold Gods Law within the building & take it with us where ere' we go.

If you really like the tradition, but are looking further, try 1st UMC early service.  If you want to experience the social sharing of brothes & sisters in Christ, try North Broad Baptist.  Personally, I feel no one denomination is without its issues.  Its how we share the presence of God and share that with all we come in contact - outside of that building.  I heard it said that the Church is the one only group that is made for NON-MEMBERS to share....think about it :o)

Its not about the badge on the sign, in my opinion, its about what walks out from the teaching/s, onto the street & beyond.

BTW, born & raised Catholic, then Epicopal (light) for 19 years.  I started a search for spirutal worship and if you are open to Christ in your search (as we were taught in confirmation :o) you'll be surprised what you will experience when you visit the above listed churches these people are sharing.  Please go visit - they are wonderful places, steeped in the Holy Spirit~!

First Baptist of Lindale is awesome. Very friendly and alot going on for the kids and adults. I recently moved to Alabama so I'm not physically attending, but still a member. What I like the most is they do go out and spread the gospel in the community. The church has grown from that.
They have two services and Sunday School.
