Any place that has a "Sneeze Guard" over the food...count your odds [of getting sick] on one hand..... Its fun to walk in & ask to see the inspection report where its obiously "well placed out of sight."

I am really disappointed with what Ryan's has become! Just ate there today, and you can no longer order from the kitchen; you must eat from the bars. They do have steak on the bar, if you like it luke warm. As was everything, even the rolls. I worked there while attending college, which I admit has been more than a few years ago, and we would have never gotten away with this "service". I remember spending hours rolling the silverware up in napkins. Now, you get your own silverware, and napkins are on the table. We used to have secret shoppers that checked all aspects of our service, from the greeting to the seating to offering coffee at the end of the meal. I guess they just can't afford cooks anymore or good service.

I just eaten there a month ago,  I didn't realize you couldn't order from the kitchen any longer!  I got the buffet and then I was surprised when sitting there with my food and no silverware.  After sitting there about 5 mins then a waitress comes over and tells me to go get my silverware.    I don't care about eating there anymore not because of the service but the food just isn't as good as it used to be...

We ate there recently and the area you could no longer order from the kitchen (not that I ever did). We also waiting for our silverware .. that NO ONE told us to get. I asked other patrons.

Have any of you ever eaten at the Ryan's in Hiram ? It is/was the best one I've ever been to. Of course it has been several years.

Yet again, I'll say if a good Golden Corral came into town, Ryan's would be gone.

I wonder how much M&J's has hurt Ryans ? The food is not as good as Ryan's used to be, but now it is comparable and much less expensive. 2 can almost eat for the same price as one at Ryans.

We went to the Ryans in Calhoun Sunday. It was excellent & the service - great! Unlike the one here - sounds like a MGT issue.

....As one who complains about these places - a lot, it was a real surprise!

I went to a Golden Coral in south GA a while back. It was good. Much better than I remember them being when in Rome and Calhoun.

M&J's seems to be busy at times and it just BLOWS my mind. I have eaten there 3 times now and each time I thought the mere presentation of the food was poor and the quality of the food wasn't anything more than frozen or canned food you get at a grocery store. I despise M&J's, wouldn't go if it were free! On the other hands, Ryan's is not much better. The food may be a little better quality but the atmosphere there is gross!

I weren't impressed with M&J either.  I ate there a few years ago when It first opened up and haven't been back since.    One thing that turn me off was the so called banana puddding!  LOL    It tasted like watered down vanilla pudding with a few nilla wafers.  Yuck!  Didn't remotely taste anything like banana pudding..:?

I am in agreement with you too, I ate there a few times and I even ask who taught them to cut up a chicken or were they frying pigeons.

YUCK! M&J's Sounds more like, "All you can STAND!" I had been to the Golden Corral in Tifton and they are 180 degree different. Must be a different group of mgt there. I do not like Ryans Rome. it is GROSS. I was surprised with Ryans Calhoun on Sunday, tho. very clean & the salad was good, cold & fresh. So many of these places get the "cattle concept" going where they push as many thru as possible, quality is not an option!

Now, for discussion, we tried Ballengers for "date Night" last week....man, it was really good. Anyone ever eat there? Real simple, but fresh & good. We liked it. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be.

Other places you gotta try are Appalacian Grille, Cartersville & Henry's in Acworth. Both are GREAT and quality is really good! Appalacian is a bit expensive but plenty of food to split it.
