Ok I heard a little bit ago on the scanner that the credit union on dean street was robbed. RN-T has it on its site, why aint it on here?

The only thing I see that gets updated on RNW is this forum. If yall need a reporter, I can do the job.

This is no longer a news site.  They don't have any news.  It really stinks.  I only check the forum for entertainment value.  If I want news, I head straight to the rn-t site.  They are good!!!

Okay guys, I know the site was in "low gear" this past month, and this is how it stands:

Contracts for my purchase of the site were only finalized today at noon. There is no "silent partner" now. I am the owner and have a progressive vision for Rome Newswire that I now believe I may start to develop.

This is a news site and always will be, and I believe you will notice some pleasant changes and upated issues for the news site by next week.

We continued to have computer problems until extra security was integrated into the systems, some of which included me receiving no editor emails for the past several days.

Also, before taking full control today, I allowed staff some time off, which also means I'm manually posting the daily arrests and DUI reports later this afternoon. I have hired someone that will keep these reports on schedule beginning next Monday. I believe in treating your employees well and never asking them to do anything that you are not willing to do yourself.

If you look at the Rome Newswire front page now, you will notice the categories have changed slightly. These will all be filled with current events and continue to remain current as of this Monday (maybe even this weekend). Two new categories that are not yet filled but will show up as I do so are Cave Spring (to highlight government, sports or community events there) and Across The Wire (for interesting or important news that may not have happened directly in our community.)

We normally would not be so terribly short-staffed yesterday and today especially, but I thought some down time was important before shifting everything into fast gear. Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union was robbed today around 9 a.m. Everyone is okay, and the business just re-opened for regular business today just after 2 p.m.. I knew some news would be sacrificed for the employee down time and business re-shuffling to own the site myself -- I just didn't know it would be news that included something this big. My apologies. I believe you will notice a new and improved site next week. I can write no more for now. I have a million things to do. If you cannot reach me by email and need to do so, I may be reached at the offices number: 706-237-1480.

Good luck..........a lot of people really want to depend on rnw, if for no other reason than their avowed resistance to rnt..............any investigative reportin in the future???????? In my opinion that's the real niche for rnw due to rnt's unwillingness to do it..........other than anonymous folks who claim they were harassed on broad st.........

Well, I'll post one more reply before heading out the door.

Yes, there's a lot in the works, but if I say everything will all pull together within a week or two, I now know that may turn into a "month." I'm just glad everything is finalized now and no "silent partner." I wanted to come back on the site and say I wasn't in full control yet, but I wanted to do that once I finally owned it. So here I am. Hope y'all like the categories and content coming.

BTW, the editor email is also fixed now. (editor@romenewswire.com) Let me go start swinging some swords now. Later.

I will welcome comments. And remember: We (RNW) are the "good guys" and I hope to keep it that way. Thanks.
