I very seldom stop at this particular one, but today three of us were out running around and decided to go through the drive thru to get each of us one of the 1.00 any size drinks.

It was very muggy today (what else is new?) and this was mid afternoon.

Anyway, when we finally get to the drive thru window and place our order the girl says "Oh, our drink machine is down. We only have milk, tea, or apple juice".

Heckadoodles!! McDonald's is a billions of ppl served place. You'd THINK they could keep their  drink machines running.

Besides, who wants milk in 99 degrees?!? :?

(Thank you Sonic for your cold drinks we ordered!!! ):)

Sonic has much better food, fast, and best of all good prices!  We choose Sonic every time!   My 81 yr. old mother is hooked on the hot fudge/bundt cake/ice cream desert delishishness!!!    More times than not, in the past, McD's ice cream machine is down.  Annoying after sitting in a long drive thru line.

He's the one that said (politely) to the girl in the speaker box ( lol) "McDonalds serves billions but can't keep ONE drink machine going". I'd loved to have seen the look on her face.

I agree! Sonic has awesome ice!!! :)

Not taking sides as the owner of this board said on another subject but don't you think every thing will break sooner or later. Just like say an a/c. If mine breaks i don't have another to put in service.

People expect things to break... I think the question is, why do they only have one machine? Or, if they had two which I suspect they do (one behind the counter and one in the dining room) were they just too lazy to walk a few steps to fill the drink orders?

Exactly!

As much $$ as McDonald's takes in.....have a back up plan at least!

Another thing, if you are out of something, or something is broken...at least have the courtesy to make a sign to put outside BEFORE you wait in line and it's your turn at the drive-thru only to find out "it's broken".:?

The new drink machines I have seen in McDonald's are pretty cool. They automatically grab the correct size cup from a turret and fill it with the correct drink with ice, based on input from the computer order. I guess that this makes the workers more productive and cuts down on errors. The one you were referring to must have broken down, and the workers didn't know how to manually fill a cup with Coke...so sad...

Have you ever gotten a drink at the drive thru and it's not even full because of those auto machines? Or, not enough ice?? LOL

I don't have any problem with them, they are on my boycott list so no problem.
