I thought this was funny!   Understandable if the man did infact start new medication.   Not making excuses for him...

if he's taking medication that makes him sleepy, maybe he shouldn't be driving. especially in a police car with a gun...

With the "low" pay for LE in this area he probably has to work two or more jobs to make ends meet. At least he was out of traffic. He should have called in and told them that he would be out for a few minutes, and the station would be a better place.
Next time he needs to park out in the open and point the radar gun into traffic.LOL

If anyone noticed... this is an ex-FCPD officer. No insinuations, just food for thought.

He was the same floyd county officer who had a gun stuck in his face and the trigger pulled on pleasant valley road.........luckily the gun misfired........

I met him while he was a summerville officer and he was soft spoken and humble................. Not saying that I knew him well.............

He did a bad thing by sleeping on duty and has been fired................

I know about the deal on Pleasant Valley, the two perps got off light compared to some. I too have knowledge of the officer and feel that good officers are mighty hard to come by. There should have been some reprimand short of firing. While his actions were not good, I am sure that his intentions were. A Shame,,,,,,,!!!!!

I have a question for shift workers. Is there any one of us out there that has not taken an extended break, loafed off or had a nap at one point?
At least this officer had the forethought to park his car instead of crash it...if you work shift work, you know that the boss has no recall of what it is like......day shift is nice, but it effects your memory as far as the fatigue of working shifts....then take into account, other jobs, family problems, stress.....it is not easy. I would rather someone take a quick nap than endanger themself and others......maybe this officer did not have a supervisor who felt the same.
I will add that if you have never worked this kind of shift, you will not understand.....

Is this an opinion from someone who has worked shiftwork?
