I missed that GG, probably while talking on phone. Early in the evening I heard someone from public works tell the drivers of the salt trucks to just get the bad spots on hills and curves, to cut it off on the flat parts of the roads because they had limited material to spread.

I know last I heard they had 1 truck out and 1 truck being repaired about an hour ago.

My scanner is in the bedroom and I go back and forth listening to it. There has been a lot of wrecks on 53 and in the shannon area along with numberous scattered everywhere else. The scanner has been booming all evening and night. Floyd County and Rome City Police, Dispatchers, EMS and Rescue are doing a great job with these road conditions, I know they have to be tired... They are running their butts off! Thanks to all of them for their kind heart and help on this icy night and morning!

ME, just wanted to mention that I really appreciate the scanner reports you give and I'm sure many others do too. Thanks.

If the DOT used budget issues to not put sand/salt trucks on the road some one should be fired today. That is a pee poor excuse. But i guess they need the money to build the govenors lake.

I hope all goes well with her surgery.   Let me know.  I should be home all day.

Please be careful, GG. Many of the roads are still slick and you don't need an accident to add to the problems. Tell her we will all be thinking of her.

I just got back home from the hospital. She was in surgery and recovery until right at 7pm tonight. The surgery went well. She is still in a lot of pain and is just real graugy (spelling?) after the surgery. She is sopose to get to go home in the morning as long as she does ok through tonight. Thanks everyone for all your prayers.

GG, I'm glad the surgery went well and I know it will seem like forever that it takes to heal completely but she is very fortunate that it was not worse.
